That's right! My Mouthy Stitches tote that was sent off to its new home in Australia (back in October) has arrived back at my house. I do not really understand why as the address was correct. I am just happy to have it back. This time it will be covered in tracking numbers so I can watch it on its journey.
Oh how wonderful - in an odd sort of way. This is what happened with Annabella's tablerunner in the first Chrsitmas swap. It was sent from Australia and returned there - eventually. And she did get it, just seven months later than expected as I hand delivered it when she visited me. Maybe you should hand deliver yours. ;-)
ReplyDeleteSusan beat me to the table runner story! It was my table runner which had two trips to Morocco! It is a bitter sweet feeling to have it turn up again! I also sent a Pay-it-forward gift recently to have it returned a week or so later as the recipient had moved! Good luck with this delivery!
ReplyDeleteI just got a bundle of fabric I had shipped back in November over Thanksgiving back this weekend! I sent it in a flat rate envelope and it was returned because it needed more postage... um, hello. flat. rate. envelope. I'm headed to the post office tomorrow to duke it out -- i'm just glad it made it back too, but 2 months! what teh heck, no customs were even involved!
ReplyDeleteWell, that's weird!
ReplyDeleteOh you are so lucky! It is great that it found it's way back.
ReplyDeleteHurrah - so you've not started the replacement? that's sort of a shame because then you would have one to keep! Can the postal service explain I wonder?!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice the postal service works......eventually. I had one returned from America, the lady in the swap had given the right address, but the wrong postcode!
ReplyDeleteIt is better than lost in post. It is a beautiful bag!
ReplyDeleteSucks that it didnt go where it was supposed to but great news that it came back to you, its freakin gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWell both Susan and Susan beat me to the tablerunner story lol! It says it was returned because the person had left the address?? Have you got the right address - how weird!
ReplyDeleteThat worked out ok then!
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's alive! I was beginning to worry it'd been eaten by sharks ;o) How odd that it was supposed to go to the right address but didn't get delivered - I wonder if it's been processed incorrectly and sent to the wrong part of the country...if only it could talk and tell us where it's been!
ReplyDeleteweird! Glad it wasn't eaten by sharks!!
ReplyDeleteoh wow! at least you got it back... years ago, my mom sent me a package from denmark too for christmas, we didn't get it until february, it had been DOWN under for a while first---- SIGH.
ReplyDeleteunfortunately I've lost several packages in the mail too going between here and Denmark- often it's in customs in NY where it gets LOST!
Well glad it didn't fall down a black hole at least! I agree with Susan, I think you need to accompany it next time ;o)
ReplyDeletethat is so great that it was found. I often wonder what happens to lost packages.
ReplyDeleteBizarre! I bet that tote could tell a tall tale! Di x
ReplyDeleteKnew it!!!!!!! I am so pleased!!!!
ReplyDeleteCrikey! I'm sure that doesn't happen too often! Brill that you got it back! jxo

ReplyDeleteBlame it wholly and solely on Australia Post. They can be bloody hopeless some times. I read stories about them delivering correctly addressed parcels two streets away. Luckily the woman was a school mum at the same school as the intended recipient and knew her and could give it to her. The benefits of privatisation of government services!
ReplyDeleteGlad it is back and you can send it again. Given how much stuff is sent in the mail for quilters, it is nice this happens so seldomly.
ReplyDeleteWhat a relief! Maybe it wants to stay with you?
