Pezzy Pizazz

A top!  I finally have my little pezzy prints into a top!  It took a long, long time to tame  trim my HSTs into submission shape, but in the end all of that effort was 100% worth while.

This pattern came together so very quickly once the HSTs were uniform size.  Without a bother the points just seemed to match up perfectly.  I will say, this was also a wonderful pattern for seams nesting to give some guidance when sewing.  By pressing the seams always to the print, each I sewed a seam the pieces just melted together and the points were nice and crisp.

On the back I'll use a Kona Corn Yellow.  I haven't worked out how I'll bind it yet, but that will come while I'm quilting away.

Any suggestions on how to quilt it?  I could do diagonal straight lines easily, but I'm starting to feel like that's a cop-out.  Concentric semi circles?

  2. Looks fantastic! I think something that continues with the motion created by the piecing for the quilting will be great :)

  6. Yay! It looks fantastic! I really like the quilting I did when I used that same pattern, and it was really pretty easy too - http://kelbysews.blogspot.co.uk/p/tutorials.html - it's the cathederal windows quilting tutorial.
But whatever you choose it will be gorgeous!

  9. It looks wonderful, Cindy! Trimming HSTs is such a pain, but I always love the resulting quilts! I admit that I am a big fan of straight line quilting, but if you want to avoid doing just diagonals, maybe you could choose an hourglass and echo it? Oh, and I love corn yellow...great choice!!

  11. This is wonderful, I keep looking at this layout for the hsts. I think your idea of concentric circles or a huge spiral would be good for the quilting but the other ideas here are also good.

  19. Ooo looks amazing Cindy! Not sure about the quilting, you could do little circles, one the size of each block? I'm not good enough to attempt that one though!
