Community Quilt: Arrangement Options

I am in love with our Community Quilt right now.  I have finished making the 64 blocks and they are nicely squared, which was absolutely necessary due to my poor ironing skills.  Anyway, I took a little time over the weekend to position the blocks in different arrangements on my design bed.

You can make little diamonds.  Now, the bed is not large enough for the entire quilt, so there would be a 4th column of diamonds in the final version.  This is my favorite option.

You can make little squiggles.  This was too hard for my eye to focus on.  I was also having trouble envisioning quilting this, where with the diamond pattern you could do straight line diagonals or quilt a design in the center of each diamond.  Here, I didn't see the same variety of quilting options.

My other half thinks this looks like a snake skin pulled over the bed.  That is one massive, but colorful snake.  This was really pretty from above and would make a great wall hanging.  However, when my eye level is only a few feet above the bed (I'm a shortie) I could not see the full pattern and it looked like randomly placed blocks.

The diagonal blocks made me dizzy.  Need I say more?

Do you have a favorite?  I am curious to hear what you guys think.  The diamonds are stealing my heart right now, but I would like to hear your thoughts too.

To give credit where credit is due, the pattern and arrangement options are from Tea Quilts.  You can see a gallery of several finished quilts using this pattern here.

Congratulations to the Fluffy Sheep Quilting car boot(-ish) giveaway winners!   Eva of Pippa Blue won the bobbin holder, Hadley of Flying Blind on a Rocket Cycle won the chalk pencils, Katy of Miss Pixie will be receiving the fabric and Gill will give the pattern a try.  Your packages are going in the mail today or tomorrow.

I like the squiggles, you could quilt it to mimic the curves.

But the first one is the most eye pleasing to me.

Diamonds! But, regardless of arrangement, it would be hard to make this quilt look bad. Very nice work.

The first option is most definitely best, although the squiggles are pleasing.

All are nice, but I love the least traditional one, the most unique one to me is the 2nd one, the one that looks like waves. Good luck with your project.
