Have Clearly Lost My Mind

Have you noticed the insanity?  It has been creeping up on me!

I went to my quilt guild meeting on Saturday morning.  I usually bring just 5 euro so I have a little money in my pocket for tea and a biscuit.  Any more and I am tempted to buy fabric (that I don't need) or rotary blades from the pop-up shop that is always at the meeting.

This weekend was different.

Immediately after the guild meeting this week I had to run home, shower, pretty up and head right to a friend's wedding.  Dangerously, I had stopped at the bank machine before going to the guild meeting just so I was ready to head directly to the wedding and errands wouldn't hold me up.

You see what's coming, right?

Well, the temptation was WAY TOO HUGE and I spent some of my wedding money on fabric.  Oh, the shame!

I bought eleven (ELEVEN!?!?) fat quarters of Stitched in Color.  I just love this line of fabric.  You would know as you have already seen me drool over it here and here.  I now have so much of it that I need a serious plan.  How do I use gorgeous jelly roll scraps, fat quarters AND a charm pack in one project?  Is this really three?  Eeek!  I need a plan.  I was thinking of granny squares....

Rest assured I did go back to the bank and took out more money.  (No bride was harmed in the writing of this post.)

Sometimes you just have to give in to the temptation! It's a lovely set of fabrics! :)

Personally, I think it was just meant to be! Enjoy that pretty fabric - inspiration is soon to hit!

They probably read your blog and knew to bring that line of fabric in for the pop up shop. But it is going to be a gorgeous quilt - whatever pattern you use.

Your actions seem perfectly sane to me. That fabric line is wonderful.

Naughty Cindy! But at least you had more money there to go and take out after! I am thinking you could make an Olympic pool sized quilt with granny squares from all your loot, they make up a lot! 1 charm square gives you 4 squares for your granny, you only need 13 squares of print for each block, so that is just over 3 charms, imagine how many charms you can cut from the fq's...oh my mind is bloggling with the number of squares you can eek out of them!

The fact that you managed to get to the meeting before going to a wedding is an achievement that deserves a prize as far as I am concerned!

Lol, you've been so disciplined for so long - you just needed to splurge!

Totally agreeing with Flying Blind--and it IS beautiful fabric and looks especially love in your blue bowl.

Haha, I beat a hasty retreat from the meeting (not before I'd bought four FQ's first though). She had such a variety of fabric, it would have been a shame not to. They look gorgeous. Have fun playing!!

I'm working with these fabrics now too. Just made a really fun bag, to be blogged later today.

Moya was at the Midwest branch meeting the day before the Galway branch meeting. I bought a good few bits of the Stitched in Colour fabrics as well. I didnt have enough money on me, but "luckily" I found out she takes laser/credit cards as well...

I was also thinking what Hadley said... going to a meeting before a wedding! Obviously you were meant to have that wonderful fabric!!!

Hilarious! I love it! We've all been there - that's what makes it so funny. :) Glad to know the bride was unaffected by the side shopping. :)

Instead of going to the ATM I strongly suggest you check into the local rehab center! The quilt one that is! =D

Love it! You are turning into me :-) They look gorgeous, have fun thinking up a project for them!

LOL The insanity has spread.... I'm not saying you got it from me but we both got it bad...

LOL. I am not part of a quilt guild - that alone would be too tempting. Plus, my local shop takes debit and visa. I always end up spending more than intended just by walking in the door. :-)

A treat every now and then doesn't hurt you.

You did the bride a favour IMO ! Imagine if you hadn't bought the fabric - you would have thought of nothing else but WHY DIDN'T I BUY THAT FABRIC!???

This way you could free your mind to think about your friend! Aww!

Good girl!

I'm with Nicky, you definitely did the bride a favour!! Did you take the fabric to the wedding or did you start to miss it halfway through the reception?!

Who need weddings??? (If you can have fabrics)
