Still, quilting is my happiness. This was my second quilt (started spring 2010). I found the pattern in Material Obsessions by Kathy Doughty and thought this would be a good pattern to start with. I had not quilted before (or even seen someone quilt before) so I just jumped in!
I wish I knew then what I know now. The majority of the points don't match as I really did not know what I was doing. That being said, I love the colors and patterns in the fabric and you have to start somewhere, don't you? Lesson learned, though. Find what you love and jump in, but do not expect perfection. Take every class you can and learn from many teachers. This is going to be a journey, but a happy one.
I am going back to basics now and doing a traditional sampler quilt. I hope to post a few blocks this week for you to have a peek!

Funny thing...I have been quilting for about 10 years and I just don't fret over matching points. I try to get them to match but if they don't...oh well. I am not all that concerned about it. It's a quilt...something I hope they sleep under. But that is how I keep quilting fun. I am a perfectionist in everything I do EXCEPT quilting.
