Granny Mania

Whew!  How are you doing checking out new blogs in the SMS give away spectacular?  I could spend all day blog hopping looking at all of that eye candy.  But, it's time to re-focus and gain sanity in my life again.

I couldn't hold out much longer.  I had to make a granny square.  I am over obsessed lately with collecting Stitched In Color bits and pieces...a happiness that was greatly supported by Di in the Mouthy Stitches swap as she sent on delicious jelly roll "scraps".

And then more so when I found FQs at a pop up shop appearing at our Patchwork Society Meeting.

The help of Google, I found this quilt and fell in love.  I am not at all being creative in shamelessly reproducing someone else's idea, but I am happy as happy can be.

It's been a long while since I made something with a line of fabrics instead of scrappy bits and pieces.  I forgot how effortlessly things come together!  Three blocks down.  Seventeen to go!

I feel like the only one not bitten by the grany bug. Yours is going to be beautiful though. The colours just pop out.

Oh that fabric and your granny squares are to die for, it looks modern African in a way and it's so cheerful, cushions in that fabric would look stunning as well. The combo of orange and fresh lime green is so invigorating.
I want to make a cell phone pouch for my mom's Tracfone SVC for seniors, with the big keys and letters on the screen so she doesn't have to wear reading glasses when making a call.
This fabric would be brilliant for nook and ipad covers too.

I've crocheted a number of granny squares, but haven't pieced one yet. I might have to give it a go! I really like the gray background you used.
