Whew! How are you doing checking out new blogs in the SMS give away spectacular? I could spend all day blog hopping looking at all of that eye candy. But, it's time to re-focus and gain sanity in my life again.
I couldn't hold out much longer. I had to make a granny square. I am over obsessed lately with collecting Stitched In Color bits and pieces...a happiness that was greatly supported by Di in the Mouthy Stitches swap as she sent on delicious jelly roll "scraps".
And then more so when I found FQs at a pop up shop appearing at our Patchwork Society Meeting.
The help of Google, I found this quilt and fell in love. I am not at all being creative in shamelessly reproducing someone else's idea, but I am happy as happy can be.
It's been a long while since I made something with a line of fabrics instead of scrappy bits and pieces. I forgot how effortlessly things come together! Three blocks down. Seventeen to go!

I feel like the only one not bitten by the grany bug. Yours is going to be beautiful though. The colours just pop out.
It is good though - you shameless girl! And I love grannies so copy away!
Looking good :)
Oooh! It's lovely! Grannies are very addictive, I expect! I'm itching to start something new, but MUST finish a quilt or two first!
Love how your grannies look in this fabric. I too have been bitten by the granny bug but not a scrap of fabric in sight, ha!!
This will look amazing! I saw the grannys on the stash bee and they look so lovely.
Beautiful colors!
The grannies are great!
The top photo looks like it would make a really cool block. In fact, I thought it was one...
I love, love, love these fabrics! (I have my own tiny stash here) Lovely grannies!
Looking good cinders!!!
Hmmm I'm almost tempted by the grannies... but then I remember that all the blocks end up with bias edges so NAH.... LOL yours look lovely tho!
Love your granny square blocks Cindy, and really like the grey background fabric you've used. Darn, now I want to make some
those look gorgeous, such bright colors! can't wait to see more!
Fantastic idea. This is going to be one electric granny.
oooh so pretty, love your granny square!
So pretty! I love the rich colors!
Oh that fabric and your granny squares are to die for, it looks modern African in a way and it's so cheerful, cushions in that fabric would look stunning as well. The combo of orange and fresh lime green is so invigorating.
I want to make a cell phone pouch for my mom's Tracfone SVC for seniors, with the big keys and letters on the screen so she doesn't have to wear reading glasses when making a call.
This fabric would be brilliant for nook and ipad covers too.
So much fun! I'm still holding out on granny till I'm less busy with other things...
Loving your Grannies :) Just a tad addictive! :)
Great idea to jump onto the Granny bus! They are very addictive once you start making them! I'm sure you'll have the rest of those blocks sewn up in no time =D
I'm hosting a new swap over at my blog if anyone is interested please pop over for a look =D

In that scrap collection the orange/turqouise print stands out the most!! Love the granny squares.
Grannies are cool!
the grannies are lovely and they will be so bright and happy with the stitch in color fabrics.
Grannies are definitely the new hot thing! I love the way they look, I got one from a bee I am in and just fell in love. Your colors are fabulous!
I love the layout of your first picture. At first I thought that was your block. (Now my head is full of fabulous ideas!)
Bought a layer cake of these fabrics and could not figure out a design I really liked - - love yours. Thanks for the inspiration - also the Granny block - fabulous~
Oh, you liked my quilt! :D Thank you, Cindy, and I love your blocks! I'm already starting on another Granny quilt. They are so addictive!
I've crocheted a number of granny squares, but haven't pieced one yet. I might have to give it a go! I really like the gray background you used.
Love the blocks! :)
