Peanut Butter & Jam Love

I have been looking for a hand stitching project to mess with while watching movies.  I've tried EPP and love piecing the hexies...I just hate piecing them together into something.  I'm trying to learn how to knit, but that is slow going.

I had a mini light bulb moment when I saw Hadley's cross stitching post.  Maybe this is the thing for me!  So I went over to Wee Little Stitches and had a shop.  I found a pattern that was screaming my name.

I love peanut butter and jam.  Raspberry jam with Skippy smooth peanut butter on toast, specifically.  There are very few things in the world that make me happier.

Anyway, this was my first attempt at cross stitching and I truly enjoyed myself. It travelled beautifully, was perfect in front of the TV and it looks fab hanging in my kitchen.  I think I am onto a winner!  Thanks, Hadley, for pointing me in a new direction!

That is so cute.
Glad to find a fellow peanut butter and jam lover. My hubby and kids think I am a loon.

It has to be seeded raspberry jam and the crunchiest peanut butter for me. Love your xstitch, I want one now!

This is very cute. Although I have never tried the jam/peanut butter combination, not sure it's for me! I have been doing cross stitch since I was about 7 years old and it can't be beaten for portability and doing in front of the TV. If you want some more modern, funky patterns, have a look on pinterest, there are some great ones there :-)

Very cute - never tried that combo but happy you have found a new outlet for your creativity!

I'm more raspberry jam on goat's cheese!

Cross stitching is addictive once you get into it. It's great for kids to do too. You have reminded me that I have a bag of unfinished ones somewhere!

You have never cross stitched?!? It was my gateway craft! Although I prefer cheese with my jam and my PB solo.

Too cute! I used to do loads of cross stitch when it was popular the first time around circa 1990 (am I really that old?). Great that you have found something else to keep those hands busy! Jxo

Wee Little Stitches are OK but there are other shops that sell great cross stitch patterns, like PixelPower, for example. I think that PixelPower even better than WLS:

- they have way more patterns (in fact, they have A LOT of patterns) and add a new pattern almost every day;
- their patterns cost less money and they have amazing sales, like 3 patterns for 10$ or 5 patterns for 15$;
- they have a Facebook group where they post a free pattern every week and giveaway some of their commercial patterns for free;
- they make custom patterns in a day or two and if you can't find your favourite movie, tv show or music band in their shop you need just ask them to make it for you, everything will be ready in a couple of days, try to do the same with WLS, you'll be waiting for ages;
- they are just super:-)

Give them some love and visit their shop: www.pixelpowerdesign.etsy.com. Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/pixelpowerdesign
