A New Year - A Fresh Start

Why not start off 2013 with a new beginning?  I have been a bit uninspired to blog through December.  Don't get me wrong.  I have been sewing like mad, but sitting down to write a post was just too much for me.  Can we start fresh in 2013?  I miss you all and would love to re-join our online community for the inspiration, chatter and laughs!  I'll try like mad to catch up with each of your blogs over the next few days.

Let's kick off the new year with new, colorful photos of an old project: Chaos.  Remember how difficult it was to photograph it with the Irish rain?  Well, I was in the US for the Christmas holiday.  I brought with me a few finished projects to photograph in the hope of finding a bit of sun.  So, one bright morning I packed them up and took a walk in the local nature preserve, Peace Valley.  I regularly walk here often while I'm in PA.  I grew up in this nature reserve flipping over rocks to look for bugs, bird watching and catching frogs.  I love it here.  Still, you have to know I looked like a right eejit walking around with a camera and several quilts, but it had to be done!

There are lots of downed trees in the reserve this winter.  They were knocked over during Hurricane Sandy, giving me a dose of reality in my walk.  Still, they made great backdrops for a photo or two!

There's our colorful kick off to 2013.  Here's hoping the new year is filled with gorgeous colors, fab fabrics and great finishes for all of us!

I think a lot of us went AWOL in December, even if we were still blogging. Glad to have you back and the colours in Chaos just pop in the sunshine. Love it!

Hey, hey, chickie. No apologies! This virtual life we live takes second place to the real flesh-and-blood one. Beautiful quilt - those fallen trees really do set it off fabulously!

I do love that quilt, and such great photos! I have this image of you with a trunk full of quilts on a wheely cart or something walking through the wilderness.

I didn't get much blogging or blog surfing done in December either, as the projects I was working on were Christmas gifts, but I plan to get caught up in the next few days. Starting over sounds fantastic!

I love your quilt photos. We drove back to Florida from Houston, and I was struck by all the trees cut in half at about 6-8 feet above the ground, remnants of Katrina - and perhaps a couple of more recent storms. We still have downed trees here from Ivan in 2004. You just can't get away from Mother Nature, can you.

I wish you a wonderful - and quilty - 2013.

Chaos looks stunning!! You don't have to catch up with everyone's blogs - just start afresh. BTW, I got a little package of loveliness from you and I'm hatching a plan!

I really like this quilt. Glad you got so,e good photos of it, even if it involved taking it to another continent! I won some fabrics from your shop in a giveaway from Charm About You Lucy in September and have been meaning to say they arrived promptly and safely in Australia, and a big thank you! They are lovely.
